The Emergency Humanitarian Response Conference was launched  in Jordan with the participation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.

During the conference, the Jordanian king said, “We cannot wait months to mobilize the necessary resources to support Gaza, and the Gaza Strip’s crossings must be opened to deliver aid.”

He added, "History will judge us by our actions, and it is a test of our humanity and sincerity."

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also expressed his "welcome to the Security Council`s resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip," noting that "the Zionist occupation must stop using the weapon of starvation against the Palestinians in Gaza."

In turn, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed during the conference: “The time has come to end the series of (genocide) of the residents of the Gaza Strip,” calling for “pressure on the Zionist entity to open all crossings towards Gaza.”

For his part, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, said that “75 percent of the population of Gaza has been displaced, and there is no safe place in the Strip,” pointing out that “there is no medical cooperation in Gaza, and there are 50,000 children suffering from malnutrition.”

He continued: "International support must be mobilized for the flow of aid to Gaza," noting that "80 percent of Gaza`s population suffers from a lack of potable water."

Meanwhile, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, stated: “The opening of the crossings and the immediate delivery of aid to Gaza must be ensured.”
