Najaf Al-Ashraf announces its plans to provide energy 24 hours a day

The energy transmission network in the Najaf Governorate announced today, Sunday, its plans to provide energy 24 hours a day, while indicating that these plans are being developed based on population growth in the governorate.

The head of the network’s operating department, Ali Al-Nouri, said:
“The projects that our network has intended to provide aim to enhance electrical energy during the summer of 2024 and the Arba’een visit,” noting that “the continuous support from the General Company for Electrical Energy Transmission, which is considered the tributary to our network, since the network is within the organizational structure of the General Electrical Energy Transmission Company in The Middle Euphrates, where we intended to provide mobile stations to support the fortieth visit and relieve the bottleneck in the summer of 2024 at the West Najaf station and the Nidaa station.”

He added, "We also carried out a transfer from the Najaf secondary station to the Al-Jawahiri secondary station to relieve the bottleneck at the Al-Jawahiri station, and a mobile transfer from the Al-Jawahiri station of 15 mva to the Kamil mobile site in order to supplement the Kufa water project as it is a vital and important project in the governorate, especially during the days of million visits and the peak of summer," noting that “One of the other projects that our network intends to accomplish is adding a fifth autonomous transformer in the 400th Najaf Al-Ashraf station due to the importance of this transformer by providing sufficient availability and supplying the governorate with electrical energy, leading to providing the citizen or consumer with electrical energy 24 hours a day and with the best voltage.”

He continued, "There are also other projects, including adding a fifth transformer to the northern Najaf station to relieve the bottleneck of the station and relieve the bottleneck of the Kufa district, in addition to restoring the Abbasiya station to relieve the bottleneck of Kufa and Najaf. Among the other projects that our network is working on are future projects, which are stations 132 and stations 400, reaching Providing the governorate with 2000 megawatts or more, which can be achieved by supplying the governorate with electrical energy 24 hours a day throughout the year,” explaining that “our work is intertwined in coordination with the Najaf Electricity Distribution Branch due to the importance of the distribution branch due to its direct connection with the citizen by taking what the distribution requires, which works to Its basis is study and developing a future study, until we developed a study up to 2030 to achieve the energy needed for the consumer by developing studies and plans and studying loads, whether industrial, agricultural or residential.”

He stated that “these plans are being developed based on the population growth in the governorate,” pointing out that “there is a station approved by the governorate that will be placed in the north of the northern peninsula of Najaf towards Holy Karbala, in addition to a station towards the Ansar neighborhood and the Al-Safir station near the gas station, in addition to a station towards Kufa, opposite the Abbasiya district.
